Most of the images in this ongoing series belong to the works created for the two-person exhibition at the Craft and Folk Art Museum in Los Angeles titled: Displacements: The Craft Practices Of Golnar Adili And Samira Yamin curated by Arash Saedinia.
Inspired by my father's collection of photos, letters and travel documents I meditate on diasporic longing and in ways in which our personal lives and connections were severed due to larger political turmoil. In the gallery I set the actual immigration travel documents, photos and letters from which the works presented are inspired from alongside the art pieces to give context to the narrative.
