Ye Harvest From the Eleven-Page Letter-Detail
Transfer on Papeer, beeswax, tissue paper
24 x 36 inches
2017
I extracted all the Ye’s in one of my father’s letters and arranged them chronologically and placed the words they were taken from in their bellies. Ye is the last letter of the alphabet in Persian and equivalent to the "Y" in the English alphabet. This is both an emotional diagram of the cresting waves of the Ye’s and a kind of redaction. The blue color in the drawing is a tissue paper fused to the main paper with beeswax.
